Relaxation Exercise
Well...I just finished the relaxation exercise. Maybe it's just me, but I was able to move my arms and hands just fine! Obviously, I was not that relaxed. But, I must be honest...listening to someone's voice is not that relaxing. His voice is smooth and calm, but it got on my nerves after a while. Does this say something about me? I hope I am not the only one who has felt this way about the exercise. However, the background sounds were wonderful. I'll try to do the exercise when I get in bed. I'll be going to sleep in just a few minutes. Maybe I will have better luck. I remember what was said about blood flow and circulation. Without a constant unknown voice, maybe I will be able to realx more.....let's hope!

Hi Maggie!
ReplyDeleteAt first, I found it a little hard to get into the exercise, but I began to give in and focus a little harder because I wanted to see if it would really work for me! I have tried relaxation techniques in the past, and was not to fond of it. I prefer a massage over hearing a voice. :-) I must admit that this time was a little different for me. Maybe it was because I was tired anyway, and needed to catch up on some sleep that I was lacking after a long week at work! Lol
I have found that sometimes playing of soft music just prior to going to bed helps. In our household, I take a 20-30 min. walk with my daughter and our 62# moose of a dog. That way the exercise helps with stress relief and it lets the dog 'unwind' before she goes to bed.
ReplyDeleteMaggie,
ReplyDeleteI had a hard time getting into it at first, but I just really started "letting go" and it started working for me. I don't know if this type of therapy is entirely appropriate for me, but it was nice to just relax for a while. Now if only we could get massages through the computer.... ahhh!
See you in class!
